Hey, it’s Alyssa, creator of the Afterthought Gaming blog.
As the title suggests, I’ve put a pause on the blog but I have every intent on coming back.
What’s the hiatus for?
Now, as you probably know, gaming is huge. There are so many new games, consoles, and every game dev rumor in between. It’s difficult to keep up! I am the lone writer for Afterthought Gaming. Blogging every week, keeping up with video game news while going to school became too much. I needed a break.
It’s not that I don’t enjoy writing for Afterthought Gaming anymore – you could not be further from the truth. Video games are a strong inspiration in many of my other creative projects today. I’ll always be tapping away at a keyboard or button mashing. I just need a nap.
What’s the future of Afterthought Gaming?
The blog is definitely coming back but with a twist.
The video game blog community is very well saturated. My blog is a tiny drop in an ocean of gaming content. I want Afterthought Gaming to stand out.
Maybe I’ll only focus on J-RPGs/ RPGs from on? We’ll see. The current blog format meant that I had to cover every gaming-related news under the sun. That is just not possible with the limited human power this blog has.
I can’t clone myself (give it a maybe another 20 years or so).
So, there you have it. Afterthought Gaming is sticking around for the long haul. I’ll drop another blog post in a few weeks or so. For now, check back on my previous posts. They’re still a great read!
What are you doing now?
I’m quite literally sitting cross-legged on my couch typing this blog post on my laptop. I’m also reaping the fruits of my labour (I graduated, yay!).
I’m also adulting. I am harcore adulting.
